-
I'm a USTA Member. Does that automatically mean I'm in the Find-A-Partner database?
No - Find-A-Partner was designed so that any tennis player can make a profile, USTA member or not. The only way to create your own profile, review potential partners, and arrange matches with other Find-A-Partner players is to register your information on the Find-A-Partner site itself.
-
Does "Find-A-Partner" cost any money to sign up?
Not a dime. The only costs you'll find is in becoming a USTA Member, but with that comes the many benefits mentioned above.

-
How far can "Find-A-Partner" search for fellow tennis players?
Our search allows the user to search for similar players from one mile from his/her current location to over 100 miles- the choice is yours whether you want to go as far as the end your hometown, or stretch your search to the corners of the country. Keep in mind that this system also caters to those who travel, so that when you're away… you still can play.
-
How do I've searched around my area and there aren't any matches for my criteria? What should I do?
Expand your search area. At this time, Find-A-Partner is a growing service-it could be that in a month's time, the same search will provide results of like players. Just know that while you're out there looking for other players, they're working just as hard to find you to enjoy the game of tennis. Keep an open mind and play whenever you can-the only true way to spread the word about tennis is to play and play often.
-
Where and when can I play?
When you create your user profile, part of the information Find-A-Partner asks you to include is your home address. Naturally, your home is considered your default location, and most matches and requests for matches will come from more local sources. When creating what will become your public profile, the system will prompt you to identify, by checkmark box, what time(s) of the day that you'll normally be available for tennis play. You can also play when you travel (see below).
-
What is a travel profile?
An innovation of the new Find-A-Partner tool allows registered uses to ability to add a "travel profile". Going on vacation? Have a business trip coming up? In the past, your tennis game had to be put on hold-not anymore. When you click on "Manage Travel Profile(s)" on the Player Info page, you can let other players know when you are going to be away-just enter the start and end dates to your trip, and when a fellow player browses your profile, they'll know where you'll be.
-
How can I contact other players?
Once you find someone through the Search Results, you can click on a person's profile. From there select "Contact Player" button on the same page; which allows you to send a message through our system requesting a match or other information while keeping your personal profile information private.
-
What is "My Partners"?
Simply put, "My Partners" shows who you have agreed to play/team with on the Find-A-Partner site. Once you click on the "Add To My Partners" button on another's profile, they are sent a prompt on their dashboard (homepage) asking if they want to form a partnership. If accepted, the two players become linked and you can access their profile from your own without doing a search. Currently, "My Partners" does not allow the sharing of contact information, so if you want to arrange matches, you would have to message the other player(s).
-
Can I register as a Doubles Team?
No, but what you can do is add a check mark when creating your profile, under the "Play" tab in the "Play Type" section, that you play doubles. That way, when seeking fellow players or vide versa, you'll be listed as interested in doubles play.
-
I'm in a wheelchair-will I be able to find other players like myself?
Yes, absolutely. As part of Find-A-Partner's advanced search settings (click on the "advanced search" link beneath the main quick search button), there are player characteristics-- such as wheelchair players, Spanish-speaking players, and Super Senior players-that have a checkmark box next to their label. Check on the box, and the database will lead you towards these specific players.
-
Can I update my account?
Anytime! By updating and managing your user and travel profiles, Find-A-Partner becomes a dynamic, interactive tool at your disposal for the best tennis experience possible. If you think your game has improved, go ahead and bump up your NTRP ranking. If you decide that tennis can only fit into your weekend schedules? Again, it's just one click away.
-
I forgot my login. What do I do?
Here, it's simple-if you forget your password, type in your e-mail address after clicking the "Forgot password?" link, and the site will send out a response with your password inside the email.
-
How do I cancel my account?
When entering the database, the only party that can remove your profile fully from the list would be the site administrator(s). However, if you know that you won't be able to play tennis for a time, or be around to arrange matches, for whatever reason, then you can simply make your profile "inactive." To do so, go to "My Profile" and scroll down to the very last option in the "Play" tab. That way, you can toggle you profile on or off for those who could potentially be seeking you. This way, we hope to avoid dead profiles on Find-A-Partner
